The Latest With Lewis – March 2025
We are excited to introduce Ashlie Bellows as our new Front Desk Coordinator! A proud native Texan, Ashlie is the oldest of four siblings and graduated from Wylie High School. After high school, she attended Westwood College, where she earned a degree in Medical Assisting. For the past 11 years, Ashlie has worked in the automotive industry, bringing a wealth of experience and customer service expertise to her new role with us.
Ashlie is married to her wonderful husband, Matt, and together they have a daughter, Katelyn, who keeps them busy with her love for sports. Katelyn plays both travel and recreational softball, and when the season winds down, she switches gears to play recreational volleyball. Outside of work and sports, Ashlie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, whether it’s camping, going mudding, or just enjoying quality time together. We are thrilled to have Ashlie on our team and look forward to the energy and enthusiasm she brings to our front desk!

Has Your Spouse Been Dissipating Assets Before Your Divorce?
Property division can be one of the biggest headaches in a divorce. Texas law states that assets should be divided “in a manner that the court deems just and right, having due regard for the rights of each party and any children of the marriage.”
Each spouse may have a very different version of what that means. One person might think keeping the house is fair, while the other person considers that would be totally unfair. One way a spouse might try to alter things in their favor is by dissipating assets.
– Spending to Avoid Having to Share: Both spouses need to declare their assets to the court so it can decide how to split things up. If a spouse is worried they will have to give something up or give a share of it up, they might just decide to get rid of it first. They think that a court can’t order them to share it if they no longer have it.
